Twas the Night Before Christmas.....

Twas the week before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;

The children were nestled all snug in their bed;
While visions of a swimming pool danced in their heads;
And mamma in her bikini and I in my Speed-o;
Stood in front of the mirror looking like a desperad-o,

While out in the backyard the giant excavator loomed;
Ready and waiting to start the big dig with a boom.
Away to the window we flew like a flash;
Dreaming of our beautiful backyard oasis where we saved some cash.

The sun shone down brightly illuminating what would be done,
Assuring us the pool location would get full sun.
What to my wondering eyes should appear then,
But trucks galore and eight strong, capable men.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
We knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;

“Now, RUSTY! now, MATT! now, SHANE! and CHUCK!
On, LARRY! on BRIAN! on, BENNY! and TONY!
To the bottom of the hole! To the top of the deck and wall!
Now build away, build away, build away all!”
